I Joined the Impact because...we have learned first hand that being married to each other is different and better than being domestic partners. family, friends, and new acquaintances respect us more and give us more social support, which in turn positively impacts how we view ourselves and each other. our message is that just getting the rights without the word 'marriage' is not good enough. part of the reason we lost this election is because we did not reach out to our friends across the country. we need your help and we will be there for you. i will not rest until my husband can collect my social security.
