Hey, I think you're super!1
Love your profile!1

Hello, my name is John Hosty-Grinnell
MY VITALS
Insert your profile picture here!
Occupation: Associations/Affiliations/Clubs: Know Thy Neighbor
Hometown: Salem, MA Heroes: Harvey Milk, MLK, Nelson Mandela, all the unnamed GLBT activists out there
Current Location: Salem, NH Guilty Pleasure: Blogging against our opposition websitesJohn Hosty

The best word to describe me is: Tenacious

Favorite historical movement: June 14th 2007 at the Constitutional Convention where law makers voted 151 to 45 that marriage equality stays in Massachusetts.

My inspiration: Tom Lang's stand against the petition to end marriage equality and his website knowthyneighbor.org. Not all people agree with the in your face approach, but it is a voice in a sea of silence and should not be dismissed.

I Joined the Impact because... We the GLBT community need unity. Join the Impact brings with it the hope that we can put aside petty politics and work for a common good. After all, if we can't work with our friends what gives our opposition any hope we can work with them?

We live in a world where people don't seem to understand what is happening and are uninterested in being involved until their lack of involvement causes them discomfort or loss enough to sting. This is why I find Join the Impact to be such a great idea! It brings together the people who see we need change and puts them in touch across the country. With a minimal amount of affort I have made friends across the country and some of us are working together, sharing our ideas and hopes. Whether our efforts are successful or not the experience yields it's own reward.

Mayor Tom Menino of Boston and Congressman Barney Frank have some very important things to share with us, I hope you all watch the video I put up on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uorVkOV_Oo
