I Joined the Impact because... I have had gay friends for at least thirty years. Right now, my best friend for the last 15 years is a lesbian. She and her partner, and my husband and me have a great time when we are all together. My best friend in high school was a gay man. I didn't know he was gay but I did know he was very troubled. Growing up gay in a rural town in the early 70s was very hard. I am particularly worried about gay teens and what they go through. No one should have to suffer, feel rejected by family, friends or church.
