I Joined the Impact because... During the California Prop 8 vote and National Presidential Campaign, it was apparent there were issues there of great importance to me. I was married have two wonderful grown adults and one grandchild. I lived the lie to my family, which I'm not proud of. I'm the worst person on myself almost everyday. I'm now 56yrs old, and have the opportunity to live my life out in the open, as the person I always knew I was, but was afraid to live.
If you can know one thing, life is short, we only are here for a short period of time and my heart breaks everytime I hear of someone that has been oppressed or is living a life in the closet. A person can only come out in their time, but if nothing else, be honest to yourself, it will only get worse. And you will hurt more people that you help.
