| The Statue of Liberty, displayed in the banner logo, is part of a new symbol for marriage equality because it represents civil rights - and because it also represents immigration. One of the worst consequences of the denial of marriage rights to gays and lesbians is simply this: every year, an untold number of couples are destroyed because the foreign partner cannot marry the American one. The logo's creator, who wishes to remain anonymous, was born outside the United States. Despite having lived within the USA for nearly two decades, he has still not obtained permanent residency. You can download printable versions of the banner and its logo. These may be used royalty-free on bumper stickers, flyers, T-shirts, mugs, and other mon-profit promotional materials in support of LGBT rights and marriage equality. |
