LIGHT UP THE NIGHT FOR EQUALITY | DECEMBER 20, 2008 | 5PM WHAT IS IT? On December 20th, we ask that you join us again for a nation-wide demonstration that will make an impact on the private sector. Candlelight vigils will be held at commercial centers in cities across the country in remembrance of the rights that once were for 18,000 marriages, and in honor of the rights that one day will be again - for EVERYONE.

Demonstration will be held at 5, after a check with the group to confirm we agree on where in the mall or its proximity to demonstrate. Proposition 8 in California taking away the rights of Gays and Lesbians to marry
Marriage bans in Arizona and Florida
Gay Adoption Ban in Arkansas
And in Michigan, not only are Marriage and Civil Unions constitutionally banned, but:
We do not have hate crimes protection
We do not have safe schools laws
We do not have comprehensive anti discrimination protection
HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment is seriously underfunded
It's time to stop putting our hopes into someone else's efforts. We have the opportunity to come together as a Campus, a Community, a State, and a Nation.
Join us At the Rock, 7pm November 15th, Nonviolently United in Anger.
Dr. Julie Nemecek, A transgender activist and Baptist minister will be speaking.

Please be aware that we all need to project an image of tolerance for others, even for those who do not tolerate us. I suggest not using words such as "hate" because those people who are for defining marriage do not feel that they are being hateful. They are acting on their morals and doing what they feel is right. Using language that puts our opponents on the defense will serve no useful purpose. Thanks for your consideration.
