In the spirit of the upcoming holidays, wouldn't it be nice to spread a little gay cheer, especially if you live in a neighborhood that may not have been quite as gay-friendly on election day as you would have liked?

How about hand-making some greeting cards and delivering them door to door in your own neighborhood? It doesn't have to be expensive or elaborate, but what it will do is introduce you to your possibly not-so-gay neighbors, and let them see that there are nice gays in their own neighborhood.

Put a picture of you and your family on the card, even if it's just you and your gold fish, with the words, "Happy Holidays, from our family to yours". Make sure it's obvious that this is a positive sentiment coming from someone in the gay community to them. Rainbows and kittens work like magic!

This kind of basic outreach to those around us is vital in changing minds and attitudes towards us.
