seadickrun - I've been a organizer and activist for a decade and half...I can tell you that waiting for numbers to grow...is a long wait. You have to get involved, plan events, educate and entertain the masses. How can you expect the numbers to grow if you are focusing on the larger living areas? The GLBTers of rural areas need support. They need loud dedicated voices there supporting them. Changing the mindset in that area.

Not just waiting for the numbers to grow on their own. I too grew up in rural Indiana...I didn't wait. I got active and loud. It was a bloody and long battle, but now, through group efforts, the community is open to GLBTers.
