Invite as many people as you can.
Bring homemade protest signs and accessories. Buy products (yard signs, bumper stickers, banners, etc.) and donate to the 'California Marriage Equality Act' ballot campaign.
Have refreshments: Bottled water, snacks, etc.

Remember: Please be respectful and civil with people who may disagree with you. Have police authorities with you during the protest/rally. This is to help keep civility and stability.
California has a huge diverse population and its up to this ballot initiative campaign to reach out and speak up for the Golden State's diversity.

What can you do to support marriage equality NOW? Speak to at least three people you know whether it be a friend, relative, or acquaintance from California. Keep up the conversation for months and don't give up.

Please note that this event is just a plan. Grassroots protests and rallies won't begin probably until the start of the 2010 Gubernatorial Election, which is next year.
But it never hurts to start grassroots conversations NOW and begin gathering supporters when the event comes. Take care!

Hi,

My name is Beth Holden-Soto. My wife Cynthia and I were the first couple in Stanislaus County to be issued a marriage license on the first day that the Stanislaus County Clerk Recorder's office was authorized to issue licenses to same-sex couples.

Several years ago, I took up the cause, because I feel passionately that it is Wrong and Unjust for LGBTQI persons to be discriminated against and denied civil marriages. I know you feel the same.

We continue to work on this cause, because it is the right thing to do. We could easily sit down and take this defeat, or we could rise up, as ONE VOICE and demand Equality, not "at the convenience of our oppressors", but Now!

It's time for a peaceful candle light vigil, to remind people that we are still here. This is a not just a GAY issue, this is a Civil Rights Issue. ALL people who feel that discrimination against our LGBTQI brothers and sisters is UNFAIR and WRONG are invited to participate in this historic event!

We need you! Join in on a Nationwide Protest against discrimination, Demand Equal Rights Now!

I also STRONGLY encourage you to join Marriage Equality USA. If there isn't a chapter in your town/city, START ONE!

In Solidarity,
Beth Holden-Soto

You know this is ridiculous that this crap is still going on. It was put to a vote and the majority won, plain and simple. SO GET OVER IT!!! Do you really think that standing on a street corner, yelling at cars going by is gonna make people change their minds? The answer is NO ITS NOT!!! The public has spoken!
