It would be nice if this site would include the other places in Oklahoma where GLBTQA people are part of the movement and active and either organized or organizing. It would be good for our State to unite its resources and work and plan things together. Enid, McAlester, Lawton, Ada, Norman...just to name a few that I am aware of. I am from Enid and involved with much that is happening here. We're planning our first Pride event which will be on July 18th. We have the park, some entertainers and speakers, and some food. And we're planning more things to do here in Enid as well and working with the local open and affirming church CrossWalk on some of them. www.enidglbt.org We'd like to work with lots of other Oklahoma organizations (have a few we've talked with) and start working together on events, actions, etc.

Light Up the Night for Equality will be taking place in Bricktown. Candles will be provided. Come to the northeast corner of Reno and Mickey Mantle to pick up a candle--be there early so we can be lined up and ready to light our candles at 5:00. We will be lining up along Reno and along Mickey Mantle. The more people that show up, the more area we can cover, and the better it will look for the 10:00 news! T-shirts may be available. Someone is in the process of setting up a facebook group for the event. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. in Bricktown. See you there!

I will be visiting family from out of town (Virginia) the weekend of Dec 20. Can anyone tell me if there is a vigil in the OKC area?
