I'm the organizer here in my town tonight. I will be out with my husband and 2 girls arguing that everyone should have the same rights I have. I can hardly hand out a flier that says, "I cannot be the legal guardian to the child my spouse and I parent." I can! That's the whole point. I want to help get the message across but I'm sensitive to appropriating prejudice that I don't actually experience first-hand. Next time, please consider providing some materials for us too.

I think the many signs alluding to religion are counterproductive. If you want to keep debating the religious beliefs on homosexuality, keep using them. If you want to raise the issue to a higher (and more "win-able") plane, focus instead on civil rights and the role of equality in a democracy. Do not take on people's religion, you will loose every time. We especially need to be focusing more on the similarities of this civil rights fight to the one in the 60's, as the EXACT same arguments are being used against gays that were used against blacks.
