Rainbow SaturdayThis is a featured page

As we all know, the day after Thanksgiving is known as "Black Friday" and kicks off the biggest shopping season of the year. So this year we've decided to deem the following day - Saturday, November 29th - as Rainbow Saturday. This is a chance to show our communities that our gay dollars do matter!

Community organizers can rally the troops to busy shopping areas and display our colors. Please make sure proper permits are obtained where necessary. A great suggestion is to get your group out very early and hand out coffee to shoppers waiting in line with information about marriage equality and our movement.

Another suggestion: You can write "This bill was once owned by a gay person" on your money and spend! spend! spend! As far as we can tell from federal laws, this action is completely legal because we will not be defacing money to try to defraud anyone or gain any type of monetary benefit from it.

If you're not in the rallying mood you can still show some spirit by decking yourself out in your Rainbow best. Wear rainbow armbands, shirts, bracelets, etc.

This events success relies completely on you and your community so lets get the word out!

And don't forget the Rainbow Holidays campaign that ties in directly with Rainbow Saturday.

This is more of a comment for the above idea--I like it. We don't even have to do it just on Black Friday, it could be any day. All of those suggestions are a great way to put the word out there without causing too much legal trouble.
