A day without gays would be tragic because it would be a day without love. GOALS: - Update community on post-Prop 8 events. - Urge ALL attendees to get involved by signing up for a community workgroup. For more information: Christine Allen: coordinator@marriageequality.org> Tina Reynolds: tina@EqualityActionNOW.org Wendy Rae Hill: whill@naswca.org Doug Manchester owns the second largest Hyatt hotel in the US, the Manchester Grand Hyatt. His early contribution of $125,000 helped put Proposition 8 on the ballot. GLBT activists have been boycotting the Manchester Hyatt since July, but Global Hyatt Corporation still refuses to repudiate Manchester, despite their "gay-friendly" marketing strategies. Maybe Hyatt should just announce that we are no longer welcome in their hotels. |

My sister and I have been making and spreading white ribbons in these two cities, Rohnert Park-more than 50 people out there with them! Both in the high school level and college level, as well as others in our communities around us -- this is a small contribution, but it will grow! just letting people know that something is happening in these cities promoting same-sex marriage!
Everyone get out there and make and spread the ribbons to people! it costs less than $5.00 total for all supplies, and just some time to make them. People are excited, glad, thankful, and polite about receiving them :) |

Is anything Happening on Dec 1st in honor of World AIDS Day?
I am a lesbian who is Married in CA. but I also happen to work for a nearby county that extends to Rosville. (Placer.) in HIV/AIDS Ed. and Testing and Counseling. I was wondering if Sacramento was going to be having any candlelight vigils that day or any HIV positive speakers for World AIDS Day.. I feel there is a strong connection between this Prop 8 opression and the amount of abuse we LGBTQ people have suffereed /low self esteem/drug and alcohol abuse/depression/risk taking/ and chances of infecton with HIV. We have traditionally used HIV positive speakers to speak to students in schools about how not feeling good about themselves lead them to some kind of unhealthy behavior which lead to their infection. I would love to see an HIV positive speaker make the connection between Prop 8 denying Marriage equality/self esteem/and health impacts. While letting the community acknowledge friends and family members who have been infected or affected by the HIV epidemic that sill goes on. This discrimination towards our community has harmed us in so many ways. Emotionally, physically, spiritually, psychologically. The effects of discrimination and oppression have health impacts. Ca. needs to face up to it. The religious need to face up to it. Not LGBTQ person may want marriage but should have to right to it. It is more the self esteem, dignity, and divinity that each of us inherintly has, that needs to be acknowledged by repealing prop 8. We are sacred in Gods eyes. By denying that they are denying us our humanity. Feel free to contact me River Coyote Placer County HHS Health Education 530 546-1924 home phone 775 833-4570 work cell 530 308 6419
