| San_Diego_Dave | President Clinton speaking at Manchester Hyatt - Sunday February 15th. | 6 | Feb 16 2009, 3:38 AM EST by pngwnz | ||||

We ALL know that Doug Manchester provided $125,000 to the Yes on 8 campaign. Manchester Hyatt is also being picketed by their union employees.
Now it turns out that President Clinton is headed to the Manchester Hyatt this coming Sunday for a speaking engagement. What to do, what to do? Shall we show President Clinton that we are NOT fooling around anymore? Or are we going to continue showing that we are complicit in allowing our political officials to keep using the LGBT community as pawns to further their agendas? Shall we picket if he doesn't move his speaking engagement? We can also write to Clinton's foundation showing our displeasure with his decision to embrace Mr. Manchester's hatred toward the LGBT community. You can contact the Clinton Foundation here: http://www.clintonfoundation.org/about-the-clinton-foundation/contact-us/contact-form As for me, I already wrote to the foundation, and I will be showing up on Sunday to protest the President's indiscretion in choosing the Manchester Hyatt for this speaking engagement. Is suggest everyone else who is interested in equality for the LGBT community do the same.

I would prefer to donate to an organization supporting HIV or gay causes. Also would love to help organize and sell. If no, anyone north of San Diego want to work on finding a location? With so many empty store fronts we might be able to find something.

Why is there no link to a facebook event for the San Diego location? The San Francisco event has over 5,000 invited on Facebook.

In support of Same Sex Marriage & Equal Rights 'Join The Impact' is calling for - 'A DAY WITHOUT A GAY' www.daywithoutagay.org a community action happening Nation-wide WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10th 2008, International Human Rights Day. Instead of calling in sick to work, volunteers are asked to 'Call In Gay'. Instead of being 'sick', in support of Same Sex Marriage, volunteers will be donating their time, when they would normally be working, and volunteer for a charity organization of their choice.
For those looking for a volunteer project to do WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2008 – ‘A DAY WITHOUT A GAY’ CAMPAIGN. It is now the holiday season and a number of food banks are hurting for lack of donations. Here is my idea: Gather a few friends and during the day on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2008 go to local grocery stores, drug stores, 99-cent stores, Target, Rite-Aid, Save-On etc. As customers are about to enter the store, ask if while they are shopping to please donate non-perishable food items for the food bank (of your choice.) At the end of the day, take the items you’ve collected and deliver them to that food bank. Many food banks will even give you donation barrels for your food drive. Create a ¼ page hand out ‘shopping list’ that explains you are collecting non-parishable food items for (your choice) food bank in need of donations for the holiday season. On the flyer list the contact info. of the food bank, along with the suggested ‘shopping list’ items: CANNED FOOD - soup, vegetables, apple sauce, fruit, tomato paste & sauce, pasta sauce, beans, tuna, canned meat, etc.; PACKAGED FOODS – nutrition supplement (ENSURE, BOOST), juice, pasta, prepared meals, dry cereal, hot cereal, rice, noodles, packaged soup, cake/cookie/brownie mixes, granola bars, baby food etc. TOILETRIES – soap, shampoo, deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brushes, mouth wash, tampons, shaving cream, hand lotion, etc.

If you choose ‘Be Out’ during the food drive, include info. about ‘Day Without A Gay’ www.daywithoutagay.org If you are not comfortable with disclosing to your boss why you are taking the day off, tell them you are volunteering to collect food during a food drive for the Winter Holidays (with your Church, Temple, Mosque, school, Girl Scout troop etc.) Wednesday, December 10th. Hi everyone. Gave the page some serious, much needed tweaking. Please remember that if you're going to disseminate information through this page, you need to keep it short, keep it simple, and keep it positive.

“A letter containing a white powdery substance was received at the Los Angeles Temple and Salt Lake Temple late this afternoon. As a precaution the temples were closed and police and fire departments were called to investigate.”
Press Conference: se below for details Double Tree Inn 201 E. McArthur Blvd., Santa Ana, in the ballroom. I spoke with many of you during the Prop. 8 Campaign, as you may remember I was able to arrange for you to have interviews with folks in the community. At the time I was working as a volunteer for the Yes on 8 Campaign. Today, I contact you for a different reason. I am the Public Affair Director for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (The Mormons) for San Diego and Imperial County. That has been my volunteer position with the Church for the past 7 years. Our Church is under attack by a few of those who voted against Prop. 8. We still believe we live in a land of religious liberty not bigotry. I thought you may want the above information. Tomorrow there will be a press conference at the Double Tree Inn in Santa Ana, where statements will be made by church leaders of all faiths thought Southern California. A second press conference in the afternoon will be broadcast from the LDS Church Headquarters in Salt Lake City. If you would like to speak to someone for a live interview or comments this evening, please contact President Mark Hansen, Stake President El Cajon Stake, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sincerely, Kathy Marler Director of Public Affairs, San Diego/Imperial County The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Don't forget that the Prop H8 cancellation of gay marriage was sponsored and
paid for by the the Mormon sect and other members of the American taliban. Don't let this be the elephant in the room. That fact needs to be central to our debate, protest and fight if we're going to succeed. Let's not be vague about this like the limp, vapid "No on 8" campaign which failed to protect us against the hate and made many of us 2nd class citizens. And.... what is the reduced tax rate for a 2nd class citizen. Write our govt officials and ask them for a ruling on that issue. Ron - second class citizen of San Diego |
