IF YOU NEED HELP I'll be wearing a tag that says "KAT." Look for an Asian girl, about 5'1.

Same-sex marriage has been legal in Canada for three years, so it might seem strange to protest for a right we already have. Last Tuesday our friends south of the border were refused rights that should be second nature to a society that prides itself on equality of all peoples.

HOW CAN I HELP?
1. If you have a boombox that doesn't need a plug, that would be great! Someone has written a song for the protests and I figure we could make a CD to play while we're there.
2. Someone asked if we had t-shirts to wear, but that's a little much to do in one day. I think it would be great to have something to bring everyone together though, so if it's possible, you could pick up some transfer paper, (available at a Grand&Toy or Michaels or whatever) and put an image or something onto bandanas or even just scrap fabrics. Images are up here and at the Join the Impact site, linked above.
3. Or, you could help spread the word! Email me katyerro[at]gmail.com and I'll send you .pdf's of the full page flyer and a smaller version with four to a page. If you take the TTC, you could just leave a couple around. I stuck one to a subway pole!
4. Make extra signs! There are ideas on the Join the Impact website as well.

If someone is taking on #1 or 2, please tell me so we don't have overlap!

It was wonderful to see Obama and to hear people sing, shout, say, write, scribble, draw, "YES WE CAN!"

The message of hope is strong and i felt it when i was in the US. Here in Toronto I will be with many others, showing our support for the hope gays and lesbians have to be treated equally in the United States. Its time gays and lesbians can say YES we Can too!

Do we know how many people may be coming to this? Is anything organized for this? Is there anything I may have the ability to help with? I'll be there on Saturday with some friends for sure, but are there a lot of people who know about this and are coming?
