11 Sep 2008 - El Pollo Loco Utah Expansion

Many in CA have been deeply upset by the support that Mr. Spongberg seems to have shown for Prop 8. There has been protesting of WKS and El Polo Loco in CA.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have donated some 9 million dollars to support California's Proposition 8. It's a constitutional amendment to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The Church has encouraged the faithful to be active in the campaign - not just by donating money, but also by making phone calls, walking neighborhoods and finding other ways speak out. Thursday, we're talking about Proposition 8, and about the LDS Church's view on homosexuality.

There has recently been a series of editorial page letters dealing with Prop. 8 and more importantly fair treatment of homosexuality on this traditionally conservative campus. I encourage everyone to read the articles and peruse the editorial cartoon from Nov. 10th. This is a publicly funded newspaper that has published controversially images and text regarding sexuality. Please take the time to comment, post letters, call the editor, or reach the staff of the university. We can have an impact through state, national, and international solidarity.
