| Host of this rally/protest: Time of rally/protest: Location of rally/protest (include Google map): Contact info: Facebook group (or website)- Host's phone/email- Invite as many people as you can. Bring homemade protest signs and accessories. Buy products (yard signs, bumper stickers, banners, etc.) and donate to the 'California Marriage Equality Act' ballot campaign. Have refreshments: Bottled water, snacks, etc. Remember: Please be respectful and civil with people who may disagree with you. Have police authorities with you during the protest/rally. This is to help keep civility and stability. | California has a huge diverse population and its up to this ballot initiative campaign to reach out and speak up for the Golden State's diversity. What can you do to support marriage equality NOW? Speak to at least three people you know whether it be a friend, relative, or acquaintance from California. Keep up the conversation for months and don't give up. Please note that this event is just a plan. Grassroots protests and rallies won't begin probably until the start of the 2010 Gubernatorial Election, which is next year. But it never hurts to start grassroots conversations NOW and begin gathering supporters when the event comes. Take care! ~ADD YOUR UPDATES! |

| The board of Supes meeting on 2/10 has been canceled. We are still planning to meet with the supes, but on another date. | ||
| Joanne Genet Joanne_Genet@yahoo.com Ben-David Barr bnedavidbarr@gmail.com Nichole Bonsteel Nbonsteel@astound.net This event is co-sponsored by the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County. We need help with this event. We need couples to attend and parents to bring their children. We need parents willing to speak to the Board of Supes about how Prop 8 destabilized their family. We also need supporters in the audience. We want as many of our folks at the meeting as possible. | 10 February 2009 9:30 am 651 Pine Street Room 107 Martinez, CA 94553 The Board of Supervisors holds regular weekly meetings at 9:30 am on Tuesday mornings. The public is welcome to attend. After the Board of Supervisor's meeting there will be a child-friendly reception. The Supervisors are invited to attend. This is a good opportunity to meet other GLBT families, and see which of the Supervisors is sympathectic to our cause. This is a precursor event to the February 12th Marriage Equality Demonstration at the county clerk’s office. More details on the February 12th event to follow! | Rainbow Family Day Attend the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors Meeting with your family. There are five members of our board of supervisors. Four of them are unaware that gays and lesbians have children and families. Show the Board of Sups that we exist. REMEMBER: The Contra Costa Board of Supes voted 4 to 1 NOT to join the lawsuit against Prop. 8 filed by other counties and municipalities. Their vote was held secretly - the public was not allowed to comment. |

| Nichole Bonsteel Nbonsteel@astound.net Arts & Crafts party to make new protest signs This is an opportunity to prepare for our Jan 10th protest against DOMA. "Love is beautiful - Fight H8!" | Sunday January 4th 10am to 2pm Panama Red Coffee 2351 Salvio Street, Concord, CA 94520 (925)969-9390 (In Todos Santos Plaza, across from the big clock) We have the meeting room reserved, but there are plenty of tables and chairs in the coffee shop. *please buy a coffee from our gracious host* | ARTS & CRAFTS PARTY !!! (make new protest signs) Let's make new signs ahead of the Jan 10th DOMA protest. Our new signs should be colorful, witty, and visible from a news helicopter. Bring arts&crafts supplies: poster board, construction paper, sissors, glue, markers... etc. I will provide the sticks (handles) for the signs, as they must be less than 3/4 an inch thick. This will be a fun opportunity to get to know each other and make new, vibrant protest signs. |
