"I had heard there will be a candlelight vigil later this day near
Blake's. I have to wonder why anyone would plan a vigil on a minor
corner in Midtown (which is no longer the gay center of Atlanta).

I would consider the following:

1 - Mormom Family History Center across from Woodrum Park.

2 - 14th and Peachtree - a much more visible corner of Atlanta.

3 - Buford Highway and Cheshire Bridge/Lenox corner - much, much more
visible.

4 - Peachtree and Lenox Road intersection - great spot for media and
very busy.

5 - Ebenezer Baptist Church - symbolic!

5 - East Hill, Decatur, ...

So why hide a vigil on a minor "commercial" corner???
