1. RE: Logo: "American Equality"

It's a great logo. I love the fact that incorporates both the American flag and the rainbow flag, as well as the concepts of both fortitude and compassion.Whether this becomes the *official* logo of the community or not, I think the image should be used on the site and at our protests and rallies. Nice work. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hello. Nice logo, but a few thoughts. 1) I agree with something someone posted about one of the other images, about fists maybe not being the best symbol as they carry a connotation of violence. 2) This is in general...I think the movement (obviously including logos) should focus primarily on equal rights/civil rights, and not stress the equality of love as much, b/c lets face it, lots of people are still uncomfortable with homosexuality. What we need to do is get people to understand they dont have to LIKE something to allow it to be legal and allow equality, then after that hurdle we can work on getting people over their homophobia in general.

I like the logo. I think it's a generational thing. Don't mind saying I'm 53 but I remember (here she shakes her cane at the young people) "I remember the Olympics when the athletes stood with their clenched fist overhead. I remember....." You see to me yes, it reminds me of the civil rights movement. But if you're younger than 53, or don't read history as much as I do .... not so much. Can I make a suggestion? Well, I'm gonna. Same idea, rainbow with the hand and ... v for victory sign. Or .... two rainbow hands clasped together (so like the rainbow, no particular race) ... one hand clearly showing a wedding band. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Proposition 8 does not take anyone's right away. Everyone in the state of California has the opportunity to marry according to the definition of marriage, even the whining homosexual, as the state is not interested in a person's actual sexual preference, only that marriage occur between a man and a women.

I like the two arms because it shows solidarity (one arm holding up the other). I used the rainbow to reflect that it's a "gay" thing currently and the American Flag to convey that it's an "American" thing to promote equality. Do you find this valuable? |

"Just a thread to discuss the logo posted above... Ideas? Edits? What verbiage?"I have an idea to help promote the GLBTQ communities more into the mainstream. Do you know of any editors and magazine publishers? Please contact me at jdkeeg@yahoo.com 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
