I like your second chant. And "the youth" can be replaced by any number of other groups or phrases, so us old fogies can use it too! There's also room for great percussion - drums, hand-held percussion instruments, clapping and stomping. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I know it's a oldie, but I haven't heard anyone yelling "We're here! We're queer! Get used to it!" lately. Somehow I think there are some folks that still need to here it.

I'm an organizer for immigrants rights in Los Angeles, but I went along with some friends to the Repeal Prop 8 march in L.A. when it was denied not to long ago. This is popular in Frosted Flakes commercials and well known through the movie Remember The Titans which made it easier for people to learn:Leader/Group Everywhere we go!/ Everywhere we go! People wanna know!/ People wanna know! Who we are!/ Who we are! So we tell them!/ So we tell them We are the People!/ We are the People The mighty, mighty People!/ The mighty, mighty People! Fighting for Jus-tice!/ Fighting for Jus-tice! and e-qua-li-ty!/ and e-qua-li-ty! REPEAT The words are easy to change too. For example: The last line could be And the living wage! if you're fighting for better wages. Change things around, this chant is bound to help you guys organize your People. Good luck 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

I like shanS's idea. Screaming our brains out with short, hopefully clear chants seems to work better for those long haul marches. It also allow for little kids and older people to actually chant along.
