Online plugging for DOMA protest
Jan 2 2009, 4:10 AM EST | Post edited: Jan 2 2009, 4:10 AM EST
What I've done so far -
- Put the event on Myspace (I think I did it right) - check the link above, if anyone has a Myspace?
- Put the event on Craigslist - http://delaware.craigslist.org/eve/974057979.html if you're interested
- Announced the event on the DEGLC mailing list - http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DEGLC/ in case anyone hasn't heard of it

Any other suggestions, since we've already got the Facebook(s)?

I'd also suggest your local cities forums, too. Check http://www.city-data.com/forum. I put Omaha's on myspace and my social network, http://omahagayvillage.ning.com. I've also posted at http://www.realjock.com, I started a thread to get other to post their local protest info, too. Maybe gay.com? Or maybe your local gay bars have a website, post there or send an email about it. How's that? Do you find this valuable?

Oh yeah and gay blogs! You search keywords "gay blogs" and any search engine will pull up tons and tons of them! Do you find this valuable?

Thanks for the ideas, I didn't know my posts on Delaware's page appeared on the main forums! So, I also submitted it to delawareonline.com which is run by The News Journal, one of our two state papers. It has to be approved by staff before posting, I wonder if they will approve it or not. :x It's just for the website, not actually in the paper, so maybe they might.

I don't know if we do have any local gay bloggers but I'll check out the city-data.com site.. I'm not into bars so I don't know anything about the ones around here, lol.

Just keep brainstorming! I'm sure others will post ideas, too! This is a good thread, it may give others ideas too about their local protests! Do you find this valuable?

I've covered a lot of public advertising. All newspapers have been contacted and some news channels. We have stuff up at a lot of the resturants on Main St. In Newark, we have stuff in almost all mental health practices and all of the Unitarian Universalists congregations in DE have been advertising. Do you find this valuable?
