Candlelight Vigil for Marriage Equality
Feb 20 2009, 7:29 PM EST | Post edited: Feb 20 2009, 8:09 PM EST
On March 5th, the California Supreme Court will hear oral argument on why Proposition 8 should be repealed.

The NIGHT BEFORE this historic moment, we invite supporters of marriage equality, their friends and families, and most especially the 18,000 couples married last year, to join us in a showing of faith and support that love and justice shall prevail.

Visit the Marriage Equality website: http://www.marriageequality.org/

Look at city locations (my next post below) to know where official candlelight vigils will be held:

"This thread was saved as a page."
This one is really important to show up for in large numbers. Keeping my fingers crossed that this will turn into a Victory celebration instead of another huge disappointment.

I know, right? I'm feeling optimistic about this one. Have you seen the many legal documents (friends of the court briefs) fighting to overturn Prop 8? I heard that assemblymember Tom Ammiano just passed his proposed "HR 5" and now its Mark Leno's "SR 7" that will be heard next. If that passes, then this will finally help overturn Prop 8. With last year's protests and rallies, the thousands and thousands of fellow Californians who felt strong emotions, how media concentrated so much on this issue, and the over 40 friends-of-the-court briefs that were sent in...California will not lose this one, I KNOW it!

I can see it now, haha!
