what I am doing in Delano Ca.

On July 25 we have phillipine weekend. there are events the whole weekend. on saturday the 25 there is a parade down main st. most people in delano attend this! i started Delano LGBTQ. we are small. not even considered newborn. premature is a better description. but we will be marching in that parade! with the support of Bakersfield LGBTQ. just wanted to give people an idea ofwhat they could do in thier own town. and wasnt sure whre to put it.

leatanya....See my post on Old Idea Renewed. Hand them out at your event to the spectators. Seldom do I get a negative response. Most just look susprised.

Letanya, marching in a small unevolved (?) town is about a brave of an act as collecting a rock from Venus. Personally, I would be scared because little towns give me the creeps--I mean Stephen King movie nutball. If I were there I would join you because I wouldn't let you be alone, but I would make a therapist rich. I grew up in Trenton, Nj and our idea of making a statement about being a lesbian in the mid 70's was to stay very drunk in our 1 womens bar that got raided. You are my hero.

You are my hero."not scared at all. very excited!!!! you see ive been out in this town for about 15 yrs. everybody knows im a lesbian! i was a bartender i served em all!! lol but we wont be alone. Bakersfield LGBTQ is going to march with us! we have had several visibility events here in delano with little to none in opposition. for the most. of course there will always be some ignorant person but i can deal with that! i will keep everyone interested updated on what we will be doing in the parade. i have a meeting tomorrow to find out the details. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. I have a brand new shiney kinda respect for you. I have marched in a whole lot of inner city marches, but I am a whimpy, limp wristed, old fey, sissy pants when in comes to teeny tiny towns with pet cemetaries and I hear horror music when I am in one of those tiny little family stores. I am not proud of that, but there it is. It's not the march that would make me run off--it would be my neurosis.3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

we did it we were in our small little towns parade! i just finished posting pics! bakersfield and porterville LGBTQ came and marched with us! it was great! people cheered us and noone boooed!
