The National March for Equality is a big, bold political action in support of LGBT civil rights planned for April 18, 2010 in Washington DC. The March is a community-based grassroots-driven initiative of the National Network for Equality, a coalition to produce and promote activities to engage a new era of LGBT advocates—including those who may have never participated in political activism.

What about the March on October 11, 2009? Are there two marches planned? What endorsements do these marches have? I was planning on going to Washington for the October 11th date, but i have heard very little about it in the GLBTQ media or from the National Ortgs I have regular contact with. Do you find this valuable?

The April 18th, 2010 March has been cancelled. The organizers announced it and are supporting the March on Oct 11, 2009.The only march scheduled is October 11th. Go to DC - bring friends and family. Spread the word. For endorsements see: http://equalityacrossamerica.org/blog/?page_id=668

I agree very little attention is being paid to the march and it's really frustrating the lack of interests we are seeing from the gay business community like the bars, nightclubs, gay resorts, pride parades etc etc. Maybe I'm missing it but I see more publicity for the white parties than this march.

For those who don't have Facebook - (I joined recently) - there is a non-Facebook link:
http://equalityacrossamerica.org/

It shows all the information about the March which will be October 10th & 11th and is being led by CLEVE JONES - yes he is still active in LGBT activities.

ps - goombah - that local bar has it's own website with activities -- --- paddy's
