"WE WILL NOT BE QUIET!!!"1) Michael Waddoups, president of our state Senate, has said over the last few days that: “offensive activities” will provoke the legislature into drafting legislation against the LGBTQ community. 2) The Utah Legislature has officially refused to even allow research to be done into whether or not Utah should include Sexual Orientation in their Anti-Discrimination policies. NEWS FLASH: WE NEED IT TO BE INCLUDED!!! And it works. We have proof. 3) The overall atmosphere of the Utah legislature is clearly discriminatory with the likes of the Senate President Waddoups, Senator Buttars and Rick Votow vocally opposing any rights being granted to our community. OUR DEMANDS: 1) First and foremost, we require an apology from Senator Waddoups for his comment seeking to silence the homosexual community. 2) We strongly urge Representative Vickers and Senator Stowell to declaim Senator Waddoups statements. 3) We request that the Utah legislature allows the research process to continue so that anti-discrimination policies may be updated in a timely fashion to include sexual orientation. Utah GLBT Community with Allies hold rally to protest recent legislative inaction, words and tone of State Sen. Pres. and GOP Leaders. To be honest, I would say go ahead and let them pass legislation against the LGBTQ community. The US Supreme Court will once again strike it down as they did in Romer v Evans. If this douchebag wants a fight, he's got one!
